How Ansible DevOps Capabilities Help Build Self Healing, Scalable Cloud Infrastructure

According to Gartner, DevOps tools in general will be a $2.3 billion market in 2015, yet current DevOps solutions remain mired in complexity. That’s because simplifying and standardizing the process of deploying infrastructure is a complex, time consuming task. Luckily, that can be greatly improved by using configuration management tools like Ansible.

We’re pleased to announce that we’ve officially partnered with Ansible to add the Ansible Tower simple, yet powerful automation tool as part of our solutions! You can read the official announcement of the news here.

Ansible has been central to the DevOps movement, moving the industry toward faster and more efficient software releases as well as supporting a container development and deployment model.

What is Ansible?

  • IT automation tool

  • Advanced tasks such as continuous deployments or zero downtime rolling updates

  • Simple

  • Agentless

  • Scalable

What is Ansible Tower?

  • Hub of all automation tasks

  • Web based solution

  • Controls access

  • Manages inventory

  • Supports autoscaling topologies through provisioning callbacks

Ansible Tower’s simple automation language and enterprise-class automation tools help the Flux7 team implement DevOps practices for our customers.

For example, while a virtual machine template, such as an AMI, may be set up with the correct software and parameters of where application data will reside, performance setting, etc, we recommend you do not undertake a complete configuration management from scratch every time you start a server. Not only is this time consuming, it adds third party dependencies, increasing the likelihood that issues will occur. Ansible eases this process by enabling a script to be baked into the launch process.

As Flux7 uses a unique blend of services and tools to provide our clients with high-quality cloud infrastructure, we believe that Ansible Tower’s complementary capabilities and support will help us build self-healing, scalable and stable environments that meet our clients’ needs.

Flux7 solutions include an automated dashboard to ease infrastructure maintenance as well as a knowledge transfer to help you understand how to use a cloud platform, giving you the ability to manage your infrastructure on your own moving forward. .
